The Dean of St. Augustine College will provide executive leadership of St. Augustine College. This position reports to the Provost. Responsibilities include work in collaboration to promote the mission of St. Augustine College at Lewis University; strategic leadership; influence on pedagogical approaches for emergent bilingual students throughout Lewis University; student enrollment and retention; strategic partnerships with community organizations; the utilization of space and resources at St. Augustine College locations; management of budget and staff members who report to the Dean; and support for Lewis University’s visibility and presence within the greater Chicagoland community.
Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University’s traditions in Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
-Coordinate and oversee daily operations at St. Augustine at Lewis University locations including, facilities, maintenance, security and lease obligations. -Implement the strategic enrollment plan for St. Augustine College in collaboration with enrollment management and academic affairs. Plan and achieve marketing, recruitment, retention, and revenue goals in collaboration with enrollment management. -Lead the ongoing development and growth of innovative pedagogical approaches and curricula tailored to emergent bilinguals throughout Lewis University, especially assessment and instructional approaches that are informed by translanguaging theory and practice. -Collaborate with department chairs, program directors, and deans to support faculty and ensure compliance with academic policy, as well as continuous improvement in teaching excellence. -Support the course scheduling process with the School of Graduate, Professional, and Continuing Education. -Develop partnerships, articulation and cohort agreements with community colleges and other academic partners in collaboration with enrollment management and program directors. -Collaborate with admissions and academic services to provide student services for enrollment, retention, financial aid, registration, business matters, student academic support, bookstore and technology. -Cultivate relationships with local businesses, associations, governing bodies and/or organizations to promote awareness St. Augustine College at Lewis University -Develop, plan, and oversee coordination of special events. -Supervise staff and perform regular support and performance evaluation for direct reports. -Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree required, Ph.D. preferred Bilingual: Spanish and English Knowledge and experience in innovative pedagogy, especially bilingual instruction and best practices in online teaching and learning At least 5 years full time teaching experience at the university level At least 2 year's experience in an administrative role in higher education
