Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure): Clinical Assistant Professor - 2 positions
The Department of Educational Psychology, School of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University (effective August 15, 2024, the School of Education and Human Development will change its name to the College of Education and Human Development) invites applications for two full-time Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure) Clinical Assistant Professor positions within the Bilingual Education/ESL program. We seek faculty members who will coordinate and assist in the development and implementation of a field-based undergraduate program in Bilingual Education/ESL teacher preparation; participate in student recruitment, and engage in outreach activities at the department, college, and university levels. Due to the population to be served, candidates should be proficient in both, English and Spanish. Applicants should have at least three years of experience in Bilingual Education programs in public school settings in the United States. The successful applicants will join a team of nationally recognized faculty with expertise in Bilingual Education/ESL and a record of external funding to support their research and outreach activities. Applicants should have a commitment to collegiality and collaboration.
The Bilingual Education/ESL program is housed in the Department of Educational Psychology. Other programs include School Psychology (APA accredited); Counseling Psychology; Special Education; Research, Measurement, and Statistics; and Learning Sciences. The department and university provide a stimulating and supportive environment for research, teaching, and programmatic funding with a strong value on collaborative and interdisciplinary research. Bryan/College Station is a broad community of 250,000 residents that offers a variety of opportunities and is convenient to major metropolitan areas.
Major responsibilities of the position include:
Teach and provide clinical supervision to bilingual education/ESL students.
Provide oversight and guidance on undergraduate student academic progress.
Provide professional service at local, state, or national levels and institutional service at program, department, and college levels.
Collaborate with program faculty to maintain and grow the bilingual education/ESL program and contribute to its success.
Required Qualifications:
Earned a doctorate from program in Bilingual Education, ESL, or related field.
Experience teaching (a minimum of 3 years in US public schools) Bilingual Education/ESL students.
Experience teaching teacher preparation courses via traditional and distance education.
Experience providing clinical supervision with bilingual education and ESL students.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficient in Spanish/English

This is a full-time, 9-month Academic Professional Track appointment beginning August 1, 2025. Salary and start-up package are competitive and commensurate with rank and qualifications.
