DUTIES INCLUDE: Supervise the work of students; direct and evaluate the bilingual learning experience of students in curricular and co-curricular activities; plan and organize work in a manner such as to best meet the needs of individual students; provide guidance to each student in English and Spanish to promote his or her welfare and proper educational development; ensure that the student and the school district derive maximum return from all equipment, materials, supplies, and utilities consumed; participate in the planning and evaluation of the school's instructional bilingual program; oversee the care, discipline, organization, and efficient instruction of students in her charge; prepare bilingual lesson plans and submit them to the administration; submit course outlines, objectives, and guides in English and Spanish to the principal or supervisor prior to the start of each semester; maintain a complete record of students' grades in accordance with district standards issued by the district administrator; participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and parent conferences; and, remain abreast of the field through participation in professional development and in-service activities.
Requirements include: Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Must meet the eligibility requirements for a Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) approved license that enables the individual to teach bilingual education as demonstrated through the 1023 certification from DPI or a plan to do so; and must be fluent in written and spoken Spanish.
