About the Amplify Literacy Professional Learning Specialist Role

We are looking for people who love early literacy; who can coach and manage engagements across multiple schools; you enjoy teaching and learning; who are flexible with their time; and who are team players.
Your job will be to train and coach teachers and instructional leaders to help them make the implementation of Amplify literacy curriculum and assessments a success in their classrooms, inspiring both student learning and engagement.
Responsibilities of the Professional Learning Specialist:

Facilitate initial training workshops and follow up strengthening workshops, both in-person and remote, for groups of up to 40 teachers in English and Spanish

Conduct in-person and remote coaching sessions with smaller groups of teachers

Provide support to individual classroom teachers by modeling, co-teaching, observing, and providing feedback

Employment type: Contractor (Part-time)
Compensation: Professional Learning Specialists are paid by assignment. A standard hourly pay rate will be established per assignment.
Hours: Contractors are scheduled on an as-needed basis, but must be available during school hours across all US time zones. Availability mid-May through September highly preferred, with August availability required. Potential for year-round if desired.
Location: Regional and national in-person session delivery is required.
All Professional Learning Specialists must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Currently, wearing masks and following social distancing guidelines are at the discretion of session participants and the Professional Learning Specialists (unless district requests for all in attendance to wear masks).
***Amplify requires all staff to provide proof of vaccination for in-person meetings unless an approved exemption is provided.
Equipment required: Laptop, portable speakers, and accessory cables, as needed.
Start date: Contractors will begin onboarding ASAP. (Onboarding is primarily asynchronous and can be completed at the contractor’s convenience.)
***This is a seasonal position with fluctuating hours depending on demand. Our busiest time is July through September, and candidates with unrestricted availability to visit school sites during the summer will be prioritized. Must be available every weekday in August.
Basic Qualifications:

Fluent in Spanish (including speaking, reading, and writing) and able to deliver trainings in Spanish

K-8 classroom teaching experience
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field or comparable experience

Proven knowledge of current early literacy instruction best practices

Demonstrated ability to facilitate professional development for teachers and/or instructional leaders

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
-
Demonstrated proficiency with technology-based productivity tools, including Microsoft Office, Google Applications, video conferencing tools, etc.

Strong oral and written communication skills

Reside in one of the supported states

Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching with an Amplify literacy product

Master’s or Advanced Degree in Education

Instructional leadership experience as a coach or school leader

Experience working with diverse student populations (English learners, SPED, Gifted/Talented, etc.)

Demonstrated ability to implement instructional strategies that enhance participant engagement and equity of learning
