Job Summary: This position assists the Director of International Admissions and other offices involved in the recruitment of international students. Tasks include maintaining records and responding to inquiries, updating and maintaining application files, corresponding with international students, coordinating campus visits, maintaining office supplies, compiling country information and calculating GPA for transcript review, maintaining records and review for funds needed for I-20 issuance, assist in maintaining office budget records, and processing credit card reconciliations. Attend professional development opportunities to increase skills in international recruitment including WES webinars for transcript evaluation, and NAFSA regional meetings. Coordinate the communication and nomination process, as well as the awarding documents and assisting with the disbursement of funds for the Involvement and Course Resource Scholarships.
Job Scope: Support the Office of International Admissions by performing a variety of clerical tasks that are central to the process of recruiting, admitting and enrolling international students.
Principle Responsibilities: Support the Director of International Admissions in Responding to general inquiries by phone or e-mail Process international applications and concerning the status of their applications. Update and maintain office files and lists of applicants and currently enrolled students. Update the BANNER database accordingly. Schedule and coordinate campus visits for international students and their families. Coordinate international recruitment mailings Assist with recruitment follow up Maintain marketing materials, office supplies and office equipment. Persistently follow up on issues that may be difficult to resolve. Assist the director in Supervising student and temporary workers. Assume additional duties as assigned by the director.
RequiredSkills: Excellent organizational skills and the ability to take initiative Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products. Ability to communicate effectively with non-native English speakers by phone and e-mail. Ability to provide excellent customer service.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
One or more years of similar office experience.
Undergraduate Degree and experience with BANNER database. Experience working and/or traveling abroad.
