The Department of English at the University of Illinois at Chicago seeks highly qualified and motivated candidates for the position of Lecturer. Qualifications in ELL or TESOL and/or significant Professional or Technical Writing experience are especially desirable. MA, MFA, PhD or equivalent is required.
Lecturers in the English Department teach a 3/3 load. In addition to teaching, lecturers are responsible for attending required staff meetings and professional development workshops throughout the year, and for performing some service to the department. Lecturers become eligible for multiyear contracts as well as promotion to Senior Lecturer.
