The Writing Center at UNC Chapel Hill invites applications for the full-time, permanent position of English Language Specialist. Duties include organizing and leading graduate-level academic writing groups and intercultural speaking groups, developing and leading instructional modules in academic communication, developing multimedia instructional materials, training writing coaches to work with L2 writers, and contributing to Writing Center initiatives.
Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in TESOL, Foreign Language Education, or related field (PhD preferred) and 2-5 years of experience teaching English as a Second Language at the college level. Demonstrated skill teaching academic English for graduate students, prior employment in a college-level writing center, and tech or web skills are advantages.
