Situated between the mountains and the Arabian Sea in the beautiful seaside city of Salalah, internationally-accredited Dhofar University is the premier university in southern Oman. The university’s Foundation Program equips students with a standard minimum level of English (IELTS Band 5.0) before they begin their degree programs.
Candidates to teach English in the Foundation Program must have (1) outstanding command of the English language, (2) an MA in English, TEFL, TESOL, linguistics, education, or a related field and (3) at least two years of experience teaching at the post-secondary level. Candidates without these qualifications will not be considered. A CELTA or TEFL/TESOL certificate and experience with Arabic-speaking students is preferred.
Successful candidates will be offered:
renewable contract, to commence in December
housing and transport allowance
60 days of annual paid leave in July and August
education allowance for up to two children
round-trip flights to the candidate’s country of origin for the candidate, his/her spouse, and up to two children
gratuity of one month’s base salary for every year of service, to be paid at the end of service
