Clark University is accepting applications for EFL instructors to teach at one of our partner university in Hefei, China from November 2019-January 2020 or Hefei or Jinan, China during the spring semester (early March through late June). Areas of instruction include Integrated Skills with a focus on Listening and Speaking, Academic Writing, TOEFL Preparation, and Business English; contact hours range from 12-24 depending on place of instruction. Compensation besides salary includes $2500 stipend for travel, visa processing fees, and accommodations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Included in a range of responsibilities, the Instructor will:
Prepare, teach, and conduct up to 24 class hours per week as agreed upon
Practice initiative, creativity, and problem-solving capabilities in the classroom and within your range of responsibilities
Complete and submit course syllabi according to ALCI templates and/or partner University requirements
Evaluate student performances according to the guidelines of Clark University and the partner University
Submit grades and necessary documents by the appointed deadlines
Provide students with frequent feedback using best practices from the field
Share resources and work collaboratively with other instructors and office personnel
Receive occasional visitors to observe classes
Attend and participate in scheduled meetings in each session

The successful candidate will have:
Bachelor’s degree with a certificate in teaching English Language Learners; Master's degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or related field preferred
One year ELL teaching experience at post-secondary level (preferably abroad)
Excellent intercultural communication and interpersonal skills; Effective oral and written skills
Working knowledge of current philosophy and teaching practices in TESOL
