IELTS USA is seeking an ESL Program Development & Research Manager. The ESL Program Development & Research Manager can be based in either Los Angeles, CA or New York, NY. Additionally, other locations may be considered.
The ESL Program Development & Research Manager plays an integral role in the success of the IELTS USA Higher Education team and is responsible for maintaining relationships with current stakeholders, as well as developing relationships with new stakeholders in key markets. He/she serves as the in-house expert on ESL at IELTS USA, and will "own" all ESL program outreach for assigned accounts in coordination with Associate Managers & Graduate Program & Research Manager to meet IELTS recognition expansion & research targets.
The ESL Program Development & Research Manager facilitates on-campus reviews of IELTS for the purposes of establishing new recognition policies or updated policies (i.e. mini standard-settings). The ESL Program Development & Research Manager facilitates engagement with English faculty to share insights on IELTS to help inform admission decisions and generally work to ensure that faculty leadership has awareness of the strengths of IELTS. Additionally, the ESL Program Development & Research Manager leads strategies to grow IELTS prep courses at top accounts, including the development of materials and resources for US stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with Director, Higher Education and Executive Director in developing and maintaining a strategic management plan for ESL accounts and services that directly support ESL programs and professionals in the United States.
Develop new opportunities with higher education ESL and IEP providers by actively identifying strategic gaps in the inclusion of IELTS in preparation programs, by cultivating prospective stakeholders within ESL programs, and by building rapport with key decision makers, and ultimately gaining their recognition.
Collaborate as and when needed with Associate Regional Managers and the Graduate Program & Research Manager to develop and deliver on-campus events. Lead informational sessions on campus & engage with researchers on campus, with the goal of comprehensive recognition and use of IELTS.
Work in collaboration with the Director, Higher Education, and Assistant Recognition Managers to build a Workshop program for ESL and Intensive English Programs (IEPs), focusing on IELTS prep & IELTS prep curriculum building. In collaboration with the Marketing team and other IELTS resources, develop supporting collateral with a focus on developing IELTS knowledge among constituents in key markets.
Represent IELTS USA professionally at TESOL, English USA, ILTA, and other English disciplinary and research organizations. Develop and deliver presentations on IELTS to key stakeholders.
Lead the development of IELTS USA's ESL Research Agenda promoting access to IELTS research grants among US ESL and IEP faculty members and graduate students.
Represent IELTS USA on the Global IELTS Joint Research Council with the Graduate Program & Research Manager, seeking that group's consultation on the IELTS USA research agenda; serve as the in-house expert on IELTS studies on the English Language.
Under the direction of the Director, Higher Education, manage the work of external consultant research firms and institutional researchers as assigned on studies featuring IELTS use in the United States.
Convey ESL stakeholders' critical issues timely and accurately to the team, handle stakeholders professionally, and resolve issues swiftly. Track concerns and feedback on ESL services for IELTS, develop proposals to address key concerns in consultation with the Director, Higher Education for use by the Executive Director with the partners. Research the most effective and efficient ways to track and resolve issues using technology.
Leverage organizational and project management skills; faithfully maintain a record of outreach and outcomes of account work using the IELTS Salesforce CRM and keep detailed and accurate records of all communication and plan follow-up, reporting on that as needed to the Director, Higher Education.

Leadership at organizations that serve/represent ESL and IEP professionals (i.e. TESOL, English USA, etc.)
Test Center administrators, owners/directors, and leadership
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIRED:
Master's degree and a minimum of seven years of work experience, preferably with a combination of ESL or IEP teaching and/or policy experience and research experience.
Active involvement in the TESOL, English USA, Regional TESOLS, or other similar organizations with a focus ESL and IEP programs
Demonstrated experience creating, implementing, and maintaining an annual strategic management plan
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal direction
Demonstrated ability to maintain positive relationships with current stakeholders while expanding research.
Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills
Strong attention to detail with the ability to prepare written presentations and reports
Computer skills including Microsoft Office suite, Salesforce (or other CRMs), and ideally Pardot (or other automated marketing platforms)
A passion for providing excellent customer service
Outstanding organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
Strong familiarity with IELTS and its joint partners; familiarity with higher education in the US
Ability to travel domestically up to 60-70% of the time in the summer and fall and up to 25% of the time during non-peak seasons; must hold a passport that allows for travel to and from the US and must be willing to travel internationally on an annual basis.

This position is primarily sedentary with frequent domestic overnight travel and occasional international travel. This role may require some bending and lifting.
