Provides support, guidance, and advice for the development, expansion, implementation, improvement and assessment of the Discipline-Based Dual Language Immersion Model®, an adult accelerated learning program in two languages: English and Spanish. The Deputy Chief must conducts research in the development of new programs, services, products as they relate to the dual language model. Ensures that biliterate/bilingual instructional practices are implemented for student learning success. Provides guidelines to implements effective curriculum and instructional practices. Assists in the formulation of guidance and training of a biliterate/bilingual/dual language faculty and staff. Provides support during the start-up phase of new program delivery sites or projects.
1.Master’s degree in Education with specialization in Bilingual Education. Doctoral degree in Education, preferred. 2.Minimum of five (5) years of teaching and professional experience with emphasis in dual language education. 3.Experience in teaching second language learners in higher education, preferred. 4.Excellent bilingual (English and Spanish) verbal and written communication skills. 5.Knowledge of current curriculum trends, teaching and learning theory, and research-based practices in design, development, and evaluation. 6.Knowledge of and experience in working with educational technologies distance education models. 7.Ability to work effectively with teams. Ability to work effectively in a diverse community and meet the needs of diverse student populations. 8.Ability to multitask.
