SLS (position number 82744) University of Hawaii at Manoa College of Lang., Ling., and Lit., full-time, tenure track, to begin August 1, 2019. The Dept. of SLS offers a BA, an MA and a PhD in SLS as well as an Advance Graduate Certificate. Duties and responsibilities: The successful applicant will teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the area of SL. education, focused on second language speaking and listening, and oral communication in a second language.
The applicant will teach in other areas of the Department's curriculum as appropriate, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and engage in research and service.

Minimum qualifications: PhD in second language studies, applied linguistics, or closely related field from a college of university of recognized standing. ABD will be considered; applicants must be ABD at time of application, and evidence must be provided that all requirements for the degree will be completed by August 2019. Demonstrated ability to carry out research in the applicant's major areas of specialization, as evidenced by publication; experience in second/foreign language teaching.
Desirable qualifications: Experience in materials development, curriculum development, research methods.

Additional Salary Information: $70,000-$73,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience. Conditional on position clearance and availability of funding.
