Full Time - Experienced
ENGLISH - Full-time, academic-year, tenure-track Assistant Professor of English, College of Liberal Arts at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California, to begin September 12, 2019. PhD in English Linguistics or English with emphases in English Linguistics and TESOL required. All tenured and tenure-track faculty teach courses in their areas of specialization at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Ability to teach composition highly desired. Candidates nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered, but must provide proof that the doctorate is complete prior to the start of appointment. Initial appointment is for two years, subject to renewal. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Candidates must show a strong commitment to teaching excellence and provide evidence of professional activity that keeps them abreast of knowledge and developments within their discipline. The teaching load averages 12 units per quarter (with course load reductions in each of the first two years to help establish one's professional development activities), with correspondingly reasonable expectations for scholarship and service.
