Adjunct faculty positions are ongoing pooled positions. Respondents to this posting will be included in a general adjunct pool and will be reviewed on an as-needed basis throughout the year (fall, spring, and summer semesters) as needs arise. Teaching assignments may be finalized in the days before classes begin and are based on student enrollment and placement.
INTO Saint Louis University seeks part-time ESL instructors for its Academic English, Pathways, undergraduate writing sequence, and special programs. Instructors will join a collegial, academically rigorous program that integrates language study, academic skills, and cultural awareness, and they foster in students the intellectual curiosity that leads to recognition of a higher purpose to which we all contribute. Faculty teach grammar, reading, writing, speaking and listening, content, and recitation courses from beginning to advanced students.
Teach English to young adults in developmental and / or college-level courses.
Develop and implement instructional and assessment materials that reliably measure students’ achievement of course and program outcomes.
Deliver engaging, organized, and relevant instruction that follows program curriculum, student learning outcomes, and policies.
Build positive rapport with students and colleagues.
Offer timely responses to student work.
Meet all designated class periods and hold weekly office hours.
Maintain accurate and timely course records, grade reports, attendance rosters,
Use University-approved educational technology.
Participate in programmatic and discipline-specific professional activities.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

M.A. TESOL, or a Master’s Degree in a related field with courses meeting CEA standards.
