Zamorano is seeking an Assistant Professor of English
Design, plan and teach at least five English courses a quarter at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels with academic focus in all areas following the syllabus or course programs established by the institution.
Organize, plan and design lessons of the courses, including class scripts (support elements such as notes, teaching materials, study guides, exercises, etc.).
Systematically monitor the performance of students attending the courses taught and develop activities that improve their learning.
Design learning strategies (learning orientation) focused on the student.
Use teaching techniques that promote problem solving and critical thinking of the student.
Prepare teaching material for the subject using the new Information and Communication Technologies.
Keep the academic portal updated; registering and updating both its thematic content and student grades.
Use computer resources (electronic board, computer, cannon, among others).
Provide advice to the students in aspects related to the courses and improvement to the academic performance of the students.
Contribute to the integral formation and character development of the students in Zamorano supporting the actions of the institution.
Maintain a disciplined class by following student regulations.
Participate in the supervision of English laboratories or IBT TOEFL exams.
Coordinate activities with other units of the Department or other Departments with which it has a relationship.
Promote, manage and lead projection and research activities related to the area of their specialty.
Participate in staff meetings of the English and Departmental Area or other unit in which their participation is required.
Promote inter-institutional collaboration and team work in the area and other departmental units.
Lead an extracurricular activity
Participate in planning activities of the Department.
Master's Degree or Doctorate (desirable).
Minimum experience of 5 years in university teaching in
Manage efficiently the didactic-methodological, pedagogical and critical resources that allow the enrichment and fluency of the teaching-learning relationship in the exercise of teaching.
Master and efficiently use methodologies that enable students to learn.
To have systematically evaluated the student's learning process and developed teaching strategies to promote an active learning environment in the area of mathematics.
