The Department of Languages at the King Fahd Security College (KFSC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, invites applications for at least seven full-time English Foreign Language (EFL) faculty members at the Lecturer or Assistant Professor Rank. The department houses a first year English competency program designed to prepare KFSC students for a four year degree program where the language of instruction will be English. Faculty recruited under this ad will be assigned to work in the first year program. This position will require relocation to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia no later than 1 September 2018. These faculty members will teach 15-18 contact hours per week, serve on committees to develop the curriculum, and participate in other assignments to advance academic programs in the College. All instruction will be in English. The University of New Haven is advising KFSC in the development of this degree program, and assisting KFSC in recruiting faculty. These positions are NOT faculty appointments at the University of New Haven. The employer is KFSC. A competitive base-salary and benefits package is available for qualified candidates. Appropriate graduate/advanced degrees and college teaching experience is required. The standard contract is 1 year, renewable indefinitely. Six month initial probation period. Background:The King Fahd Security College is charged with providing the highest quality security-related baccalaureate education to create the next generation of leaders for the Ministry of Interior. The University of New Haven has been engaged by the KFSC to assist them fully in transforming their current one-year, post baccalaureate leadership training program into a four-year bachelor's degree program in security studies. The first cohort of students was admitted in Fall 2016 to a four-year Bachelor of Science program in security studies. The program seeks to deliver an innovative curriculum in a technology-enabled active learning environment with small class sizes. This initiative builds upon over eight years of cooperation and interaction between the Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences at the University of New Haven and the Ministry of the Interior.
