Saint Louis University, a Catholic Jesuit Institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service seeks applicants for English as a Second Language Instructor. The four faculty positions are full-time (9-month), non-tenure track positions.
Saint Louis University has formed a Joint Venture with INTO Higher Education, called INTOSLU. The Academic English Program provides content based instruction to university-bound undergraduate and graduate students. In addition, we offer Pathway Programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Pathways are a scaffolded model of university integration to help ease international students’ transition to the University. During this first-year experience, students take reading and writing classes alongside university-level, credit-bearing classes. A qualified applicant should be able to teach across this curriculum.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach courses in assigned discipline by communicating subject matter clearly and effectively, deploying program-approved methodologies in pursuit of program outcomes.
Fulfill faculty responsibilities: developing and deploying courses; assessing student achievement of learning outcomes; keeping posted office hours; participating in program development, planning, and review; and developing special projects and programs as needed.
Participate in service to the department, INTOSLU, and University, as needed.
Meet record-keeping obligations on time, e.g. grades, census, reports, rosters, textbook evaluation, and requisitions for instructional materials.
Assist with placement and assessment activities both during orientation and at the end of the semester.
Foster a collegial work and learning environment through continued professional development.

Education and Experience:
Master's degree in TESL/TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Linguistics, English, Education, or a related field with a TESL/TESOL emphasis or TESL/TESOL certification OR equivalent.
Two years of teaching experience.
Additional Salary Information: Salary is commensurate with experience.
