ENGLISH LANGUAGE LECTURER (Full-time)
NYU School of Professional Studies at NYU Shanghai
The NYU School of Professional Studies (NYUSPS) at NYU Shanghai seeks an experienced, innovative, collaborative instructor of English as an additional language (EAL). NYUSPS offers a range of non-credit English courses and workshops for professionals, students, and the general public with the aim of helping learners develop communication and critical thinking skills and achieve their English language proficiency goals.
Reporting to the academic director, the English language lecturer will be responsible for teaching EAL courses in Shanghai and for assisting in student advising and academic coordination of the English language program. The full-time English language lecturer will be granted a three-year renewable contract with NYU Shanghai, who will provide visa sponsorship if necessary.
1. A master’s degree or higher in TESOL, applied linguistics, or closely related field;
2. At least three years of successful adult professional English and/or general or academic English teaching experience;
3. Demonstrated ability to develop English language courses for a range of skills, modes, levels, and content areas;
4. Superior proficiency in English;
5. Professional level English writing and communication skills; and
6. Ability to meet all requirements and obtain all necessary documents for a work permit.
