Elite Scholars of China (ESC) is inviting applications for a teaching position with the anticipated start date of June 2017 for an Intensive EAP course for sophomore and junior Chinese high school students in Beijing, China. This 4-6-week course (depending on teacher’s availability) is designed to enhance foundational English communicative skills for students whose TOEFL score ranges from 80-100. The primary goal of this EAP course is to give students an additional opportunity to practice their English language skills necessary to create strong and competitive applications for US colleges. This is a short-term position.
* Collaborate with ESC faculty and contribute to the development of a curriculum and adjoining materials that align with ESC’s educational goals
* Teach classes that emphasize critical reading and thinking and oral presentation skills of paraphrasing and summarizing for the purposes of increasing overall English proficiency assessed by their TOEFL/ACT/SAT test scores.
* The instructor is expected to teach 20 hours per week and also be available for office hours.
