Preschool/Elementary Spanish Teacher
Summary of Position This person is responsible for the student learning and success in the area of Elementary Spanish. Additional areas of responsibility include creating an active learning environment, facilitating the curriculum based on Arizona State Standards and partnering with faculty and staff members, students, parents, and administration. The Teacher will: Plan develop, and implement an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated Spanish curriculum. Use a variety of teaching best practices and methods to equip students to read, comprehend, write and speak proficiently, with an emphasis on spoken language. This includes Spanish grammar, pronunciation, spelling, vocabulary, composition and dialogue. Expose students to culture, literature and traditions of Spanish-speaking countries. Integrate 21st Century teaching learning skill practice and mastery into the curriculum Ensure all students are challenged, and differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students at various proficiency levels. Maintain accurate documentation of daily lesson plans and all student progress. Complete all required record keeping and paperwork on a timely basis including quarterly and/or semi-annual progress reports. Develop Personal Education Plans. Use the Character and Respect Education program. Conduct parent conferences. Contribute to building the community of the school. Participate in school marketing events by greeting prospective families and speaking with prospective parents as needed. Maintain expertise in specific subject area(s) taught. Maintain a consistent and ongoing commitment to professional growth and development. Model excellent teaching practices to teacher assistants, student teachers, and student interns as applicable. Create and maintain a professional portfolio.
