Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have a relevant Master’s degree and preferably, a teaching skills qualification (i.e. CELTA, DELTA, Dip TESOL, PGCE with TEFL / ESL, or equivalent). Experience in one or more of the following key fields would be an advantage:
- EAP / ESP teaching
- EAP / ESP curriculum design
- EAP / ESP assessment
- E-learning and the application of Moodle (VLE)
- An interest or background in science, particularly teaching scientific writing
- Experience of teaching Chinese university students
Candidates must also have ideally, two years teaching experience in a higher education environment, some or all of which will have been in China.
Salary and Benefits
The salary offered will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience in the range of RMB 20,000 – 30,000 per month. Benefits will be available to eligible applicants, and include an accommodation allowance, a relocation allowance, medical insurance and paid leave. CNST will also help candidates to obtain the appropriate visa.
CNST is located in the Higher Education Town of Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP), which is 80km from Shanghai and well-connected by high-speed rail and road links. SIP is a major growth zone, and has experienced high economic growth rates for more than a decade. The city of Suzhou successfully combines the spirit of old and new China, with the historic old town a major World Heritage Site. Greater Suzhou is now the fourth largest concentration of economic activity in China in terms of GDP, and SIP offers a comparatively high standard of living for those wishing to live and work in China.
